Early Career Researchers Network at 2018ACHS
The 2018 Association of Critical Heritage Studies conference in Hangzhou is quickly approaching and we would like to highlight four ways we are trying to help make your conference experience as enjoyable and productive as possible. We aim to facilitate peer support for early career researchers, but everyone is welcome to participate in all our initiatives.
- Session 002 A Critical or Not-so-critical Force? Borders of Critical Heritage Studies in Practice (2nd September 13.30-15.00). Join us for a panel discussion with Laurajane Smith, Pamela Andanda and Yunci Cai.
- Session 003 Traversing Disciplinary Borders – Theories, Methods and Ethics for Interdisciplinary Critical Heritage Research (5th September 13.30-17.00). Our paper session featuring ECRs and more senior academics.
- Twitter is blocked in China so we are embracing Chinese social media. Join us on Weibo for an online conference back-channel. Like on Twitter, our profile is ACHS_ECRN. If you don't read Chinese, download the Weibo International app to your smartphone and create your account there. Then tag your Weibos with #ACHS2018#.
- We will be organising informal evening get-togethers in a cafe/bar close to the conference venue. We will meet outside the main entrance to the theatre after the formal programme ends on the 2nd (18.30), 3rd (19.30) and 4th (19.30). We will then walk to a nearby cafe or bar together.
