The focus of the third edition of the 'Museums in Arabia' conference encourages participants to engage in a broad discussion around architecture, art and design within the context of museums and galleries in the Gulf. The conference will be hosted by the College of Architecture, Art and Design at the American University of Sharjah in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, April 18-20, 2017.

Authors are invited to submit paper proposals relating to architecture, art and design within the context of museums, galleries and heritage institutions in the Gulf region. This is an interdisciplinary conference and, as such, we welcome paper proposals from scholars and practitioners from a broad range of disciplines.

This conference will be of interest to academics and students working in the field of museums and cultural heritage in the region and globally, museum and gallery practitioners, art historians, artists, designers, architects, and, more broadly, those with an interest in the sociocultural, economic and political landscape of the region.
